Glad to hear you're home. Starting to get a little worried esp if they took you to Toby. Don't do anything with those shirts until after a few weeks that you feel up to it. I can wait and certainly every else can as well. Take it easy and get better!

Glad you are back at your home now and I hope & pray you get well soon. Don't worry about fishing, the fish will be there when you get well, just get well first! Welcome home buddy.

Terrific news that you are home and on the mend. The fish will be there next year.

If I recall correctly, you work for the Massachusetts Commonwealth. Check with your HR department to see if there is any short and/or long term disability policy. It sounds like your doctors would clearly say you are disabled. There is also social security disability, of course, should heaven forbid, the problem last longer.

Also, I agree with Destroyer that you should check with the Mass. unemployment folks. Most states only pay unemployment if you are actually let go or laid off from the employer, and there are goofy rules when you work for the state or federal government which reduce or eliminate unemployment benefits. For example, I am aware that federal employees are not entitled to state unemployment benefits in Indiana. I do not think workers compensation is an option unless your illness is tied to an injury or illness caused by your job.

Best wishes and we will all keep thinking about and praying for you.

I had talked to MJ about all these possiblities. The state offers disability insurance, but MJ didn't qualify because of pre-existing diabetes problems so they wouldn't let him opt for it.
SSDI only kicks in when you're out for a year and then has very strict guidelines which may prevent him from owning a car, home, boat, etc.
Unemployment Insurance only kicks in help if you're laid off here in MA.
Not a chance on the workers comp either.
