I usually keep mine on the bow. I never replaced it after losing it and 22 feet of 5/16 chain. Had to cut it loose, we couldn't move around to free it because other boats were fishing on top of us practically. One reason i do not fish on weekends anymore. I forgot how good V20s looked with the bow rail. How do yall think a black bow rail will look? It looks good on a contender t-top.

Wolf, that's a nice setup... if I could afford an anchor windlass like that I'd do the same thing. What did that set you back if I may be so bold as to ask? :head:

I got lucky enough to get it at a whole saler, $200.00 I took it a part cleaned, rewired, greased and painted. It is worth every penny.. Never have to leave the helm seat. :)

WTF?????? Spam?

I use a windline anchor holder like this one it goes on the bow rail, then i have a perko deck pipe that is right behind the front lights. All the rope goes in to the front of the bow behind the square curtain. This setup makes anchoring a breeze plus you don't have wet lines in your cabin

I keep 3 anchors of different sizes in my enormous fish box between the helm and port side seats in my V20 cuddy. I usually reach for my biggest Danforth with 10' of chain. I could easily throw it over the bow from the cabin, but of course, I am throwing it over the bow rail, which is not good, and I do not want to play out 200' of rope when anchoring in generally shallow waters where I boat. It does become a bit of a PITA to get up on the deck, with the anchor and chain in hand, then pass it under the bow rail, before throwing it out. That is why I sometimes opt for the little navy style, vinyl coated anchor with no chain and about 50' of rope, throw it over the rail, play out the line, pass it under the rail and secure it.
