I see birds on mine!

I'm with you Blue

I have been 38 miles out in the Atlantic many times with mine.

Also that's how the charter boats around here work. They won't ride unless they see a swam of birds on their radar.

I wish I had one on mine I'd use it to find the birds and run to them.

How do y'all avoid lobster trap buoys when you are out at night?

I try to stay in the channels where they are not supposed to be.

I drive slow and keep a good look out. If your eyes are adjusted and there is enough moonlight, you can see upcoming markers and bouys. I also keep a search light handy.

I had that radar many many moons ago. The light is adjustable. If i remember one of the buttons had the sign of the sun or something like that and i had to keep pressing in order to get the light higher, but it was in a different mode. First i had to go the menu(or something similar) then choose from there, sorry, but it has been more than 10 maybe 15 years ago.
BTW, you can not spot birds with that radar, it was very low quality(even though it was top of the line then) and also is only 2 KW. You need 4 KW or better to spot buoys and birds.
