A good place to start looking for motors is craigslist.org and click on your city. This will give you a idea of expensive motors are in your area. Be very careful of what you buy and form whom.

Thanks for all the advice guys.

Really after being on this board for 4 years,
I have seen many a horror story.:oh:

Like MJ's lost in shipping engine, to (I believe)it was Skool's - E-bay warning.
I also aquired a really good list of questions to ask about the engine.
:news:

Why not have new sleeves press in for $400 dollars? Click on OMC and download the PDF ..or call

That is interesting Nymack.

Hey Skool's wanna come with me, I'm making a trip to New Jersey,
I hear there is an e-tec on the back of a dually,
just sitting in the storage yard.

My schedule only allows for me to go Sunday after midnight, you in?

I'll go if Skools won't. You take the motor for your V....I want what its attached to. We are going to need an adjustable wrench, a flashlight, police scanner, and a 5 gallon bucket of fish blood.

nipper 10-27-2009 03:39 PM

Love the fish blood line!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Skools Out 10-27-2009 04:00 PM

heck if we take the whole rigg we can get a new motor a new trailer and a nice clean waxed bilge dually with a leak lol.

as for the sleeves not worth it, it would cost more than a good used motor, plus usually those blocks crack when you try new sleeves.

If you want to go Merc BS has a nice 150 almost ready and he is putting 3 other motors toghter Tell him what you have $$$ and I am sure he will be able to fix you up.

Good Luck

parishht 10-28-2009 10:49 AM

Hey BS, what you got?

Like I said before, I am not really serious until March or April,
but I may be able to swing something right after Christmas.
