quick start

I'm pretty sure your engine should have the quick start feature which automatically adjust the idle at startup it idles high till the engine warms up then it should go down in rpm's,and if the engine is already warm and you start it, it still idles high but then should go back down shortly and I dont think you are supposed to raise the throttle lever to restart that motor could be wrong but I thought i read that in the owners manual will have to doublecheck

Therm:

Disagree with your HP comparissons - 235 (big bores) where always under rated. BS posted listing a while ago that showed a 80's vintage 235 with 256 HP based on a Land and Sea dyno results (which I believe where all prop shaft based). Although you are completely correct, the the new motor will use a lot less fuel!

I do know that the 85 235 became the 86 175XP when they went to propshaft HP ratings. The 235 is a good running engine, but it's light weight helped it alot as well.
