The heard has been growing here for a long time!! Use to see them kin the fall and winter, but they live here all year long now and the number has grown to the thousands!
They eat all the inshore fish and bait, all the surf fishing on the outer cape has become nothing and if you do get a fish the seal will steal it right off your rod!
Even the boat fishing has become lame, I have not been to the outer cape in at least 5 years as its not worth it anymore.

down here in the south, nutria eat marsh and make trails in the marsh like there is no tomorow. they are a nuisance and not indegenious. if you get a liscense which isnt hard to obtain the tails are $5 a pop. when they are out they are easy targets.

Those bastards sure are ugly. They look like big rats with wooden beaver teeth. At least seals are cute.

Haha! I remember when Sheriff Harry Lee had all the Jefferson Parish deputies out shooting nutria in an attempt to cut down on the population a little.

It was one of the wackier of his often controversial stunts.
