Re: 21 FT Project Boat Getting Close
well i live right at a lake so i'll let the new owner add whatever type they want if they are fisherman and not skier's. If i were keeping the boat i would cut the walls out and install rod box's some how. actually i'd have to build them for this boat due to foam filled walls and thin pocket walls. could use the front 2 holes to hold rods and lock them in it.

Re: 21 FT Project Boat Getting Close
Skool: its looking really good. I want to ask a simple question. Are you spraying on the paint or rolling it. I haven't done any painting like this but am thinking about a few spots on mine and was wondering how you got yours to look so good.

Re: 21 FT Project Boat Getting Close
the gray i brushed but the hull i rolled with epoxy highbuild primer then sand smooth with 220 then sprayed finish coat paint. decided to use Perfection 2 part paint by Interlux.

;DCyensen54,
You should buy this boat, then you wont have no need for your bim top curtains, you could hook me up then, ;D |
Re: 21 FT Project Boat Getting Close
Skool: When painting below the water line do you have to use an antifowling paint or will the two part epoxy work? My father inlaw keeps his boat in the water and repaints the bottom every year or two but I keep my on a trailer after each use.
I was looking at paints online and alot of them say not to use below the waterline. |
Re: 21 FT Project Boat Getting Close
SKOOL,
You should have a v-20 raffle on this site for free for the boat. ;D ;D ;D |
Re: 21 FT Project Boat Getting Close
yes the 2 part will work under water actually never had problems with brightside on the bottom either, if the boat stays in the water bottom coat is better. they make a white bottom coat paint now.

Re: 21 FT Project Boat Getting Close
Well guys tonight i got in from work feeling like doing some painting and sanding so i crawled under the boat sanded the entire bottom then lifted up in the air and tilted the boat to one side preped bottom and mixed the paint sprayed a nice thick coat on one side then tilted the boat the other way and sprayed the other side of the bottom. boat looks so slick and shinny, you would think it's glass. I had to turn the lights out fast as the bugs attacked so will get pics for you tomorrow. best part is i didn't see any runs or sags. Guess the old Binks BBR Mach-1 Pro HVLP Gun did it's job.
