Today i mocked up my single wide leaning post height to except my portable live well. Before i mount my leaning post base im gonna drill a small hole for a wire to come thru the base and put a trolling motor style plug to plug in the live well and operate it from the switch panel. |
looking sharp!
|
Its getting there!!! Get my new motor tomorrow so i will be hanging it on friday!! Getting really really excited!! I catch myself just staring at it sometimes in shock! It has come along way.
|
I guess with the hawse pipe and the sampson post that you'll be mounting an anchor on a tilting roller?
Great idea routing the livewell wire into the post! |
The Bollard/Bit was kind of an overkill. I had it laying around and said to myself it will look badass on this ole classic. I will be putting a bow roller on it at some point. I do alot of tautog fishing and i like the get the rope vertical over structure......it makes for alot of pressure on a cleat setup

One happy KRACKER!!!! Went to camden,nc after work today and picked the new motor! |
She's really looking sweet! Love the sampson post and the hawse pipes too. I've found thicker anchor rode, like 5/8" or better works better at going through and not getting tangled. Also dig running the wire through the leaning post.
You should be very proud, she's a beauty! |

Ran the the harness and shift/throttle cables today. Set the console up and installed key/kill switch and binnacle. And put second coat of spar varnish on the wheel base. |

I love it and it is really getting there in a hurry now. Nice work and way to go on keeping us all updated. The pictures and write up is epic. Such a special undertaking with spectacular results. It came out better than many new boats and you did it with your own two hands. Not many can ever say the same. A proud moment. Lastly, I must say it didn't seem like 4 years. Way to gut it out brother. Many a man has thrown in the towel on lesser projects than yours. :money:
Where is that painter? Oh here he is... :nic: |

5 coats of spar varnish made the wood on the console look amazing!!! |
This thread is good to show what one can do with that free old raggety hull down the road. Beautiful!
|
Kracker, your boat is a thing of beauty and a joy to behold. Congrats on a beautiful example of what can be done with hard work and dedication. Well done mate, well done!!!

I'd love to tag along sometime.
You did a lot of smart things - from building up the transom an hanging that economical 140! I probably missed it but what size fuel tank does she have and where is it located? |
Its a 34 gallon poly tank under the console. Plus i will have 12 gallon portable. This is a inshore boat but the 4 stroke definitely opens my possibilities for more range!!
|
Great job! And a beautiful console!

I'll bet you'll never need the 12 gallon. |

Love her floating the chines out of the water.
Not to mention the low profile console and sheer line. Huge difference, you should be proud! http://wellcraftv20.com/community/at...7&d=1332466970 http://wellcraftv20.com/community/at...9&d=1332467061 |
