Re: 1988 V20 with 225 Honda
mix some food coloring( make sure its coloring only, no sugar) with 1 gal of gas(use green or blue, red is hard to track in a boat, too close to fiberglass resin color) pur it into the tank and see if *and where it shows up, you can buy some florecent coloring that shows up with a black light

Re: 1988 V20 with 225 Honda
Fumes huh ??? ... sounds like a dangerous situation ... I recommend you remove the E-Tec and send it to me ASAP!!...
No kiddin'...is it after filling?...do you fill to top? ...tanks topped-off can many times overflow their vents due to cold gas from ground tank EXPANDING as the gas heats up ...specially in the FL sunshine... Check hoses for deterioration, connections for loose fit ... and if Spare's suggestion about the food coloring doesn't yield results, find a shop that can do a pressure leak-down test on your tank...keep us posted on how it goes ;) ... |
Re: 1988 V20 with 225 Honda
Thanks for the tips guys.
The last time I went out, and returned, I did not fill 'er up all the way (maybe 5 gallons short). Have not smelled the fumes. The E-Tec runs great !! |
