A hip replacement ouldn't do much for what I'm getting. It wouldn't help the scar tissue and nerve problems. My hip itself isn't the problem as I can stan with a straight leg pretty well with no pain. My problem is when I have my weight on it and bend my hip I get shooting pain that is enough to make me scream, then my leg just goes out. As to the kids, it's rough knowing I won't be able to really do things with my boys as they grow up. I was told after this happened to not wait because when I turned 30 things would change, I was hard headed and didn't listen, so now I get to pay the price. On top of that my poor wife is beginning to lose it having to do triple duty, and goes back to work in just a few weeks. I'm hoping things turn around soon. I go to court on 9-16 for my disability. I paid into the system, but now that I'm almost wheelchair bound they ignore me. Been fighting it for over 2 years now, and I hope my oldests birthday is good luck for me.

Ferm, do some research on pelvic alignment, most physical therapist ignore this, it really helped me get rid of a lot of back pain and sciatic nerve pain. I was lucky that the first therapist I went to was up on this and believed in it. Most of the exercises are very simple. I can explain most of them to you or even scan and email the pamphlets I got from the therapist. It helped me a lot, even though I ended up having surgery anyways. Call me if you have any questions

I know my pelvis alignment is messed up from having 2 different length legs now. I was looking over my MRI images, and HOLY CRAP at the scar tissue I have. It has even started going down into my good hip and leg from favoring my bad one. The ball for my hip is no longer shaped like the good one, and I have actual voids inside the muscles and tissue from previous surgeries and where the hardware used to be. Im going to try and get a few screen shots saved to upload, but it's a friggen mess. It looks like I'm at the point of pain management now, and no more working. I wished now I would have listened to the doctors better when I was younger and not tried to push it and do the stuff I used to do.

Well doctor #2 today confirmed there isn't really anything they can do for my hip. Sucks being in pain, and being told they can't do anything for it. My hip is encased in a large mass of scar tissue and voids from years of not listening to the doctors to take it easy. Guess I should have listened to the doctors when they told me to take it easy all them years back instead of trying to be superman and saying I can still do it. He said another injection might help as he thinks the scar tissue didnt let the steroid get into the joint, but its a long shot. Another option is to have a hip debrievement done to remove the scar tissue, then an injection, but this would still be short term relief as the scar tissue will just come back with a vengance. Or a last resort shot in the dark would be a hip replacement, but he also said going in could adjetate it and make it even worse. His reccomendation was to get off the pills and live with it, so thats what I'm doing.

Same to you. It was a longshot, but I was hoping the 2nd doc would see soemthing the 1st didn't. Being told they don't know why I'm in constant agonizing pain sucks, and knowing pain meds don't work is even worse.

Feel for ya Ferm. Hang in there.

Figured I would go ahead and update this. The pain in my hip got unbearable, so I broke down and went back to the doctor that operated on me last. He was rather disappointed that the shots they gave me didn't help. As he put it, I shouldn't have felt ANYTHING in my hip 2-3 hours afterwards due to the nerve blocker shot he ordered(I'm one of those lucky people that they don't work for). His reccomendation is an exploratory surgery to go i nand actually put a camera in and see what is binding it up. Since I can't chance being off my feet for another 6 weeks(the last operation was only supposed to be 1-2 weeks off my feet which turned into 6 weeks afterwards), he sent me to pain mangement. I was getting to be a pretty unbearable individual to the point my marriage was suffering, so I broke down and went. He put me on a muscle relaxer, anti seizure med, and doubled my pain meds. I go back to him Wednesday this time with a formialry list so he can pick a covered narcotic that he feels is more appropriate for wat I'm going through(theres not many pain meds I can take with all of my previous complications and current meds). So right now it's all a waiting game until next summer when I can hopefully have them go back in and see whats wrong after my wife is out for the summer to watch the kids.
