the Neptunes were built in Columbia SC at the Sunbird plant, they were on par with the Sunbird boats built there( entry level), the one we see around here haven't fared too well, they were not the best of boats available. OMC droped the Sunbird line and started building the Hydrasports there in Columbia. Sea Hunt is built somewhere nearby( can't remember where), one of the chief designers there used to work for Stingray boats( built in Hartsville SC) Sea Hunt is a far better built boat( I've worked on severral) than the Neptunes, and some people don't care for the Hydra Sports built during that time( Red Lightning Stripe), I personally don't have any experiance with the Hydra's of that era.

How comfortable would you guys be buying an older Seabird like this one:
http://www.classicseacraft.com/forum...b=5&o=&fpart=1 I'm a bit skeptical about buying such an old boat, even with updates. Are the Seacrafts really that good? This boat looks like it could be a good deal. Maybe too much boat for me though. I really would like something closer to 20-22 feet. |
BGA, that link is to your signature pic.

Doh! I fixed it...

:drool:I seen that one before, just to far away. She looks purdy. We have a member here with one similiar to it, says it looks like an overgrown V-20. |
Yeah Ferm, that's true, the flare on that thing does look close to the V20...

That's not a Mako it's a Seabird. Two different animals . 24' deadrise and a cored hull. Can be lots of work if the core is soaked . Although this boat looks nice though. Kamikaze |
this might be too big, but its priced pretty good
