Well I have been slacking with the fishing reports, but they are all the same.
Some guys will say they are doing great and getting there 200 lb every day. But these guys are getting in the water at 5 am and getting to the fish house at 4pm!!
I am in the water before or at 5am and I am on the ramp at 12 noon. To me this is fine!! Its a long day the other way!!

IMO no one is making a living at the Fluke or the Bass !! I am happy with having a great time with friends and family, so if I can fish for free thats fine.

The price of fish is the same a always and is worth more to me in the freezer then to sell for gas. Fluke under 2 pounds $2.25 Over 2 pounds $3.00 Jumbo's over 4 pounds $4.50

So far in the last 4 trips I have got 78#, 90#, 170# 88# = 426 pounds and have made $ 913 - $530 gas, oil for truck and boat = $383 - $210 for Lic = $ 173
On top of that I have one broken custom rod, and one reel break. Rod I will fix the tip - 3" and reel can be fixed.

So far I am even, and I could careless if I come ahead!! I am having a blast, Boat is awesome!! Much better then I could have hoped for!! Still needs a few things but I am working at them slowly as this is time for fishing not fixing!

July 12 is opening day for the bass, I will then hit the bass early AM and then start to Fluke for the rest of the day.

Well there you have it, not the best season ever, but not the worse either!

Now if I can get CB and BS out there I will be happy! :nice:

What do you mean no one is making a living fishing for bass? I'm spooling up the 113hs with wire right now and figure I'll make enough this summer to quit my day job and take an early retirement!

Size is too high and limits too low for you MJ!!!

7 keepers and 20" in RI and I'm pretty sure Sean is not commercial! In CT it is 19" and 5 fish so I get screwed....I dock in CT but fish in RI so I have to get 20" but my limit is 5 since I would be illegal if I had 7 as soon as I entered CT water. Of course, that has not been much of an issue so far this season!

Your right!! I am spoiled with the size here!! But the 14" commercial here are to small for me, I sell them and keep the large for myself when I want to put some away. 200 pound limt.
Rec is 17 1/2 and 5 fish, Rec guys get screwed all the way!! And next year they going to get banged yet again!! Saltwater Lic. Apply for permit in 09, 10 for free, starting 2012 you will pay for that free permit!
