What does this mean? I have always changed plugs in my smaller motors but what does index plugs mean. My evenrude 200 DI is getting worse with cranking and idling. I want to change the plugs and clean out the carbs this weekend instead of having it serviced at the shop so it wont be out of the water forever. Honestly I'm intimidated of the 200 hp. Can anyone give me a step by step on:
changing plugs
cleaning carbs
changing/checking water sep
Hey Ferm, I couldn't find the Sea Foam, where do you get it?
Thanks a million!

On a Di engine, there are no carbs to clean.
As for indexing plugs, the idea is to install them so that the opening of the electrode faces the correct portion of the cylinder to that the intake charge is not shrouded from the spark. Being that I've not indexed plugs on a Di motor, somebodyelse will be along to plug in the details.

Found this one which pertains directly to your application.

As for the carbs, there is no carbs on it. The SEAFOAM down here can be bought at AUTOZONE, ADVANCE, CARQUEST, and NAPA for the fuel additive, the deep creep spray is normally at AUTOZONE and NAPA. You should have a spin on filter inside the boat, as well as one engine mounted. Also check for ANY signs of fuel leaks while you have the cowling off, there has been quite a few schrader valves fail on the fuel pressure test port and spray hot fuel onto the engine and have them catch on fire. BRP recalled some of the engines for this problem as well.

here is also a tip i didnt see in the article. make sure to buy about 4 extra plugs, due to some of the plugs will not fall indexed like they shouldm then if that happens just move it to the other side of the block. then return the ones that you didnt need.
