I took my neighbor, Tony, out for fluke yesterday. High tide was around 8 am so we headed out around 5 am and got where we wanted on the water just after 6 am. I picked the wrong spot as we started off very slow. Guy at my marina was out there (he is a fluke killer) and he was elsewhere and by 7:15 had his limit of 5 keepers. We shifted spots and picked up 2 keepers but then it died....for several hours. Finally around 10:30 we started to pick up some more and called it quits after 7 keepers. When I went to pull in the 3rd rod (it was in a holder) I felt dead weight on it and sure enough there was a keeper fluke on it. The netting attempt missed twice and just as Tony scooped it on the third attempt the hook popped out.....fish in net! No big fish so I didn't take any pics of them but here's a couple from the trip.

your neighbor looks like a keeper but tell him to turn the dam rod upside down.

CTT....that is a baitcasting reel on that rod.
My neighbor is a crazy guy. If anyone watches Deal or No Deal he was on there a few months back....

Maybe he is standing on his head and the rod and phone are in the correct position.
Sounds like you had a good day on the water.

Sean....I think I did not word it very well. We actually did net the fish and take it home....the hook popped just as he took his third scoop with the net. A second later and it would have been lost.
He won $14k on the show.....should have taken his previous offer of $53k!!!!
