$5,500 thats gonna blow the bottom out of the used V market :o How the heck am I supposed to get top dollar for my V, when theres bargains like this out there ;D

On a serious note I think thats a good price to sell quick.

Good luck with your "Trophy" I hear the twin Force 120's are the way to go ;D

willy
08-07-2007, 01:52 PM
Nah CB is keeping an eye on the eye ;D

There will be no bayliners in the forecast.

If Tim was still on the east coast I bet it would be a sea craft.

there's a couple we've been looking at. Mj's gonna check one out this week. MJ (me too ;)) would love to get his hands on a 23' Seacraft Sceptre. The problem is that in this part of the country they sell for top dollar. He spotted one in Fla. for short money and very clean. :'(

I was also going to look at a 22 Aquqsport cuddy but it was sold already.

The windshield is to be here today, I will let you know this weekend, I plan to install this weekend.

MJ:

I will be around this weekend. The boat is in the water, though. The center glass is 21-22" square. I think I still have your number. If not I'll PM. Thanks

Mulv,

This is the windshield you sold me, which I thought was from a 76. And yes it is wider and actually overhangs a quarter inch on each side.

Mulv80
08-09-2007, 11:12 AM
Boatn, the windshield I sold you is from a 79'. I think the older V's pre 77' have a wider center section, at least it appears that way in photos ???

Yep, that's ALWAYS the case - not just with boats - women, cars, fishing tackle, house, etc. etc. ;D

Thanks BR, I will have about $7000 right now (if the V bring $5000) but the longer I wait the more I will have, I hope??

I am about $2000 away from a few things I am looking at.

So right now searchers, I am looking at everything $8000 and below, I figure if they ask 8 they will take 7??

so, $8000, 20 to 23 footer, good dead rise for ocean running. Cuddy, OB or Bracket.

Formula
Seacraft
Hydrosport
Aquasport Just to name a few.

Ma. RI, NY, NJ, NH, VT, Maine. Is we get something to far away we can set up a relay, each member get it close to another member till it gets in my range ;D

Let the search begin!!

CY I am selling the V cause I am looking for a boat in the same size range that is more of a Blue water boat!!

I have had the V off the cost 30 miles before and when the sea kicks up, the V isn't really the boat to be in!!

Don't get me wrong, I have had this boat in some hairy water! And it has always got me home!!

But I am getting old and my knees hate the pounding all the way home. I need something that can ride a bit better!

Thefe, thats a nice looking boat and 25' for good money, I will look into it thanks!

Looks like a sea drive on that boat. That motor is pretty old (82). Are 200 ponies enough to push that boat at a nice cruising speed?

Also, what's up with the pics? Looks like the guy tried to make it look real artsy with the blurred background. The effect looks cool, but it sort of makes you wonder...

I like the softscrub and brush sitting on the seat boxes 8)

Actually, as I sit and think about it and then look back at the pic, I think the softscrub and brush allude to the reason for the hazy inserted backdrop....the ground was still wet from washing and you could probably see a water hose in the pic so the guy decided to crop out those parts with this backdrop. I guess he forgot to put away the soft scrub though ;D

They aint all that close to each other, a 10' beam makes em look close to each other. They say you can put a set of V-8 CHEVY's in without changing the spaceing.

I'd run the current motors until dead and maybe think about redoing the transom and installing a single yanmar with a duo-prop outdrive. Those old bertrams when redone right fetch a bunch of money.

THEFERMANATOR
08-11-2007, 02:41 PM
There is a bunch of different things being done with the 25 BERT. There is quite a few running around with single outboards, and a couple that have been redone with single straight inboards and a tunnel drive. There is even one guy redoing one with a DETROIT 6V-71 as a straight inboard. There regarded very highly as being EXTREMELY sea-worthy 2nd only to the 31 BERT in that size range.

(Back from a fire in Montana and wore completely out...)

MJ: You have 5 foot disease. My Pops has it too. I finally convinced him to jump ahead a few boats. He's going from a 341 Meridian to a 54' Egg Harbor. I think you should do the same. 17.5' beam and 64,000lb displacement should make for a nice blue water ride! ;D

Good luck with your search!

Blue_Runner

Fire, is he gonna let you have the Meridian or are you just gonna sneak away in the egg when he ain't lookin? ;D

MJ - Move down here to NC and buy me an Egg!

fireattackvdf335
08-16-2007, 04:24 PM
Blue: haha, Way too poor for that!!!! I told him I would buy a tender for the Egg, it's all I could afford!! The new boat has a 1000 gal tank to feed the twin blown 8 cylinder diesels - I won't be taking it out much for that kind of fuel cost. I'm thinking of it as a sort of floating cottage for me and my girlfriend to escape to. 8)

Pops loves to fish so we'll be taking several-day trips to the Stream with it. Gotta love the Pops.

Can't wait....

MJ, sorry for the hi-jack but you really should buy a much larger boat if that's where you are headed eventually. Hey, you can't take it with you!! Or you could convince your parents/friends to buy a larger boat and use it as much as possible! ;)

I had a friend that beat the $HIT out of a RENKEN 2488 with an I/O. That boat NEVER left him stranded. He had taken it out in stuff that would make people in 40' sportfish's would turn back. I couldn't tell you how many times he took that boat out in stuff so rough you could hear the outdrive come out of the water on every wave idleing, or how much airtime it had on it without FAA aproval. After what I seen him put that boat through, I'd stack up against any other in it's size range. May not have been the best ride in a heavy sea, but it got the job done.
