This boat is sick! *It even has a full transom with a bracket. *Man, I wonder what he wants; he won't even give an asking price. I can't see him asking for less than $15K * :-/ * :'( What do you guys think?

Here's another pic for you guys:

j_pickett
04-15-2007, 11:58 PM

Did you open the floor and replace all the flotation? What size Fuel Tank at present?

04-16-2007, 12:45 PM
I see why you are a God here, Reel. Excellent questions! (newbie sucking up) Man, what a price! I guess you have to factor in all the work and that Etec HO!! :o I sure would look good in this one but the $$... :-[

Airslot
04-16-2007, 01:18 PM
Fire, the $$$$ ain't that bad....you were getting ready to pay the same amount for a Carolina Skiff? Much more boat fer sure. New power, presumably with 7 year Warranty, heck what more could ya ask for....at least while we are spending YOUR money ;)

C YENSEN

i would trade my house for that thing :o

Ya know, Air, I can't argue with your logic one bit! *I am interested in what level "restoration" this boat has received. *

...trade yer house? *Damm, where would you live? haha

Is it just me, or does this boat look like it's had bottom paint in the past?

Airslot
04-16-2007, 02:04 PM
Well, it looks like a new transom and console. I could be wrong, but I don;t think that is a factory 78 console? The bow rail is a low profile "Striper" rail that was standard back in 78'. From the few details I can see in the pics, I'd say it was fairly thourough and the resto.

Heck, its got new power, which means at least a new wiring harness for the motor and new gauges for the ETEC. Seems to me that it would have been foolish not to rewire the boat at that time.

My big concern would be the choice of the "HO". Thats the big block Etec and weighs 100#'s more the the regular 200. I'd have to see her in the water, where the water line is in relation to the scuppers.

C YENSEN
04-16-2007, 03:11 PM
has anyone asked why he is selling :-/

fireattackvdf335
04-16-2007, 03:11 PM
Air: I agree with ya 100% on the HO choice and weight. Slinger made the right choice IMHO with the small block. (Man, I can't wait for a performance report from him on that one!)

Still would like to know if it was a "liner-off" restoration on this boat...new fuel tank, etc, etc.

Bygracealone

I don't know... I love our V's, and I like this one a lot, but if I had $20k to spend for a CC, this one would be high on the list...

let me say this i dont have to sell and really doesnt matter if i do or not. the restore was 100% deck off this is the orginal console and the tank is still in the console. the weight for the ho was 80 lbs more and i still use the scruptors as normal guys i paid 16000.00 for the engine it has less than 10 hrs on it

Bygrace, How do these boats compare to the V's as far as dry ride and rough water performance?

Bygracealone
04-16-2007, 07:29 PM
MP,

I really don't know how they compare on ride; I've never ridden either one. Sorry.

Some of the more experienced guys might be able to tell us...

I've fished a few times on the 238CCF, which I think is what BGA posted. I'll keep my V. IT has 3' of Euro trnasom, 2' of pulpit, and a few other things that are just to "Frilly". The boat I fish on is also equiped w/ a 250 johnson and, while reliable, is one thirsty SOB. I don't fish with him much, mostly because I can't afford to share the fuel cost. :(

j_pickett: I saw that you discussed the possibility of selling the boat without the engine on NCWaterman. If so, what would be your asking price?

!00% deck off...OK, but did you replace all or add to the flotation?...

Tank is still in the console...OK, but what tank?...is fuel tank in floor? or are you sayin' the console tank IS the fuel tank?...either way, can you tell me what size tank it is?...Thank you...

j_pickett
04-18-2007, 07:29 PM
ON THIS MODEL V-20 THE TANK WAS IN THE CONSOLE AND THERE IS WHERE I LEFT IT . I DIDNOT ADD ANY FLOATION. IT IS A 65 GALLON TANK

04-18-2007, 08:50 PM
Pickett, Did you replace the 29 year old wooden stringers? Also are there any pics of the restore?

fireattackvdf335
04-18-2007, 09:03 PM
...so the CC's had the fuel tanks under the console as opposed to under the deck?

j_pickett
04-18-2007, 09:08 PM
YES IT WAS UNDER THE CONSOLE NOT UNDER DECK. I HAD A BOAT MANUFACTURE CHECK MY STINGERS AND THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH THEM.

KENCRAFT BOATS CHECKED THEM

V's get to the low 40's with that type of power not much faster, They were never made to go that fast IMO

willy
05-16-2007, 01:17 PM
That is a beautiful boat, but I can tell you from experience that, that is entirely to much motor hanging off the back. That thing will sit low to begin with in a normal notched transom, when you include the fact it is sitting back on a bracket that thing is in for some serious dunking unless you are going to stay on some flat water, all the time.
That rig with a 150 ETEC woould probably be ideal, though I understand from some of the lucky fellows here that the 175 and the 200 hundred don't weigh much more so that may be an option. It would not be mine though, especially at the end of a bracket. JMHO

Not trying to stir any feathers but, with more horsepower you do not need near the RPM's to cruise and therfore burn less fuel. Mine came with a 200 and I generally cruise @33-38 mph @ 3300-3600 rpms and WOT on the river @ 4900 rpms full of gear it runs out @ 48-53mph which is way faster than I ever need to go or can afford. Just a thought. *By the way that is one sweet CC with plenty of power.

j_pickett
05-30-2007, 11:34 PM
thank you guys it will run about 59 on flat water . it is not stern heavy the brkt has floation in it . it will take 3 - 4 ft seas with out any problem been there and done it. thats the reason i enclosed the transom i didnt like the short 20 in transom. ITS STILL FOR SALE ALSO CALL ME AND LETS DISCUSS 252 -531-5431.
