Hey guys, can you tell me the part number (OEM or Sierra) for a fuel pump for my 96 Johnson Oceanrunner 200HP? I'm looking for the one without the VRO attached to it. I know the one the manual calls for is 5007420, but that's with the VRO...
Thanks!

should be PN 5007422. this pump used to be about 250. now its like 319 or so. BGA you could save alot of money if its just a diaphragm thats torn by getting a repair kit. the kit for the air motor and the fuel side for both should be under 70 bucks.

The repair kit fixes just the fuel side, but if you pre-mix it who cares. What is wrong with your current pump?

The last couple of times I was out on the boat, I was able to get the boat started and idling while at the dock. Then, when I put the boat into gear and give it gas, it would do well for about five seconds and then die. This happened both times I took it out. So, after it died each time, I had to go back and prime the bulb and start the motor, and I did this a few times before it would finally be okay. Then, once I got over that initial stage each time, the boat ran fine the rest of the day.
I sort of thought that maybe the fuel pump isn't drawing enough gas? But now that I think about it, why would the primer bulb keep losing pressure if that were the case?
The other reason for asking was because I came across a new fuel pump for sale in Ebay for $35. I thought that if it was the right model for my engine, I'd buy it whether I needed it or not since the price is so good.

I have a failed VRO pump(less than 5 hours on it) that wouldn't pump from the tank. It would move the diaphram over and then not release. I could go back and tap the pump and it would release and pump for awhile again. But a bad primer bulb would also cause a similiar problem.

Primer bulb is new from last year... I know that doesn't mean it can't be bad...

I bought 2 balls new that drove me nuts a few years ago!! They were both bad!! I finally bought Moeller and that was the end of my problems.

thats a good deal for 255 new pump. also all the vro's for v-6's superceed to the new one. i would probably just get both rebuilt kits than a whole new pump especially since your pre mixing. it really doesnt sound like your primer bulb that is bad it sounds like a fuel pump escpecially when you say it primes the system when you pump it.
