The price of Gas versus Printer Ink

All these examples do NOT imply that gasoline is cheap; it just illustrates how outrageous some prices are....

Compared with Gasoline......

Think a gallon of gas is expensive?

This makes one think, and also puts things in perspective.

Diet Snapple 16 oz $1.29 ... $10.32 per gallon

Lipton Ice Tea 16 oz $1.19 .........$9.52 per gallon

Gatorade 20 oz $1.59 ..... $10.17 per gallon

Ocean Spray 16 oz $1.25 ......... $10.00 per gallon

Brake Fluid 12 oz $3.15 ...... $33.60 per gallon

Vick's Nyquil 6 oz $8.35 ... $178.13 per gallon

Pepto Bismol 4 oz $3.85 .. $123.20 per gallon

Whiteout 7 oz $1.39 ....... . $25.42 per gallon

Scope 1.5 oz $0.99 .....$84.48 per gallon

And this is the REAL KICKER...

Evian water 9 oz $1.49..$21.19 per gallon! $21.19 for WATER and the buyers don't even know the source

(Evian spelled backwards is Naive.)

Ever wonder why printers are so cheap?

So they have you hooked for the ink.
Someone calculated the cost of the ink at...............
(you won't believe it....but it is true........)
$5,200 a gal. (five thousand two hundred dollars)

So, the next time you're at the pump,be glad your car doesn't run on water, Scope, or Whiteout, Pepto Bismol, Nyquil or God forbid, Printer Ink!

Just a little humor to help ease the pain of your next trip to the pump...

And - If you don't pass this along to at least one person,
your muffler will fall off!!

Okay, your muffler won't really fall off...but, you might run out of toilet paper
( All Of the above are choices gas is not.)

I liked this thread. Sometimes we have to stop and think carefully so we don`t loose the right track.
PERSPECTIVE. That is the one word that explains human nature and it`s actions. How much does people pay for Diamonds, what can they do with them ? Expensive because is "RARE" ?
How many people does not even go out of their house to have fun because gas is "expensive" ?
We should not even complaint, like you said. "High" gas prices is NOT a real problem if we are wiling to work so we can afford it.

I hate paying $1.50 - $2.00 for iced tea or a softdrink at a restaurant. I have often used the old, "that stuff is more expensive than gas" excuse on my wife to discourage her from ordering $6.00 worth of flavored water for herself and my 2 kids. I'll drink water and spend my $2.00 on bait, thank you.

I guess you could say I'm pretty tight.

But, I own a V-21.

All good dawg!

at least with $2.00 tea, you get free refills
wish the local chevron had the same policy

With 5 of us, it costs me $10 for drinks for my crew.......last night at dinner I ordered water for all of em.......they didn't mind at all.......much.....

And instead of 10-15 bucks worth of dessert, I got them all a dollar candybar at the gas station where it cost me $64 for 18 gallons.

So by saving $20 at dinner, my gas only cost me 44 bucks.....what a bargain.

Good point Phat!

Yeah I figure if you want tea, make a couple gallons at the house. When out to eat all you really need is something to wash the food down. And let's face it - tea is nothing but flavored water anyway!

I have ordered water in restaurants since I was able to drive. My dad would give me $20 to take the girlfriend out to dinner and grab a movie. I would normally have a little left over for gas money :)

Also, for the past 15 years I have been cutting my own hair. Got tired of taking time out of my Saturdays to go wait in line and pay $15 - and sometimes a bad hair cut. I even cut my wifes hair about once a year. Yep, I'm pretty tight :hi:

I am thinking of converting my V to electric.

Get an old blown OB motor and mount this in a way to drive the prop:
