Hey there all...Weather up here in the north has finally broke and i will be uncovering my baby this weekend...Anyway, my help question is this...I have a 86 v20step with an 1986 Yamaha outboard 115. I have had this persistent oil leak in the shroud/engine space. Its mixture oil and it appears to be a seepage. Not pouring out, just when I open up the shroud of the engine there oil pooled in the bottom, which in turn leaks down the leg of the engine. I have tried with no avail to find the leak, but I can't...HELP.....thanks in advance

check the resevoir and the lines. it might be accumulating in the box and dripping out.

CK all lines for leaks, does it do it all the time or only when tilted up?? Ck the tank cover is it on tight??
Also ck the float on the tank, when the float goes the tank will over flow when it calls for the tank in the boat to fill the tank on the motor, Float takes 5 sec to change for a cost of $100+ (Sucks) Been there done that!!

Is it raw oil or fule oil mix leaking out? Your still running the oil injection I assume? There is a chance that it is running out of the air box. I know on the JOHNNY-RUDES there is a pick-up that goes into the bottom of the air box to suck the excess oil up that gets spit out the carbs.

Clean it out and then run the motor on muff's to see if you can find a leak. If no leak trim up the motor to see if it is comming out of the carbs. I have a 1996 Johnson and it leaks out of my carbs when I rais the motor. I have just let it go but I'm going to get it fixed this summer. I think it is a float issue but I'm not 100% sure.
