I was looking around at engines and there seems to be an awful lot of suzuki outboards for sale around me. They also seem to be much much cheaper then other engines. Is this just a coincidence or are they not durable outboards?

I personally feel that they are EXCELLENT engines, I know SKOOLS disagrees with me though. It is sort of like blondes, brunettes or redheads you know, different strokes for different folks. They did have corrosion problems back in the 80' that were pretty bad, but in the late 80's they got better. I know that there they have a weak dealer network in many areas, and this is there achilles tendon. Even the best of engines need servicing. And without someone who knows what they're doing doing the work, your SOL. I know many like there 4 strokes, and I'm a HUGE 2 stroke SUZUKI fan. To each there own. Some of there engines had some weakness's, but so did the other brands.

i like their 4 stroke but not the 2 stroke ones. i would like a 140 Zuk 4 Stroke for my Sea Ox, I'm a Zuk guy when it comes to a motorcycle. Love the GSX-R guess since i had a few of them.

I think my 9.9 hp Suzi is a mid 80's to late 80's and it has a good amount of hours and has never needed anything but regular maintanence, never skips a beat and pushes my G3 smartly
