If you lsten to Rush Limbaugh at all you know he has been telling people this for a few years now and the liberals are jumping on him for being pro big oil. They just don't get it.
We need to be more efficient, a lot more. We need to invest in mass transit, cheap clean and everywhere.
We are literally sitting on oil deposits and fields larger than anything that has been opened up before, we own them. We just can't use them because instead of passing laws that ensure they are opened with all possible safegaurds for the enviroment we have allowed our politicians to pass laws that make them off limits to us.
There just is no cheaper or more efficient replacement for oil, period. And a lot of harm is being done and a lot of rich people are making money destroying the planet in the politically correct race to provide so called alternatives.
I am afraid for my children, we have no leadership, no one with a wise vision.

When you consider the fact that every gallon of ethanol we use for fuel takes roughly 1.2-1.3 gallons of diesel in tractors and other various machinery to harvest and get to the plant to be refined. Not to mention the energy used at the distillery to refine it, it doesn't make any sense does it? We are using almost 2 gallons(or the equivelant of 2 gallons of oil) to make 1 gallon of corn ethanol. Where is the benefit? Were destroying our planet faster in order for our politicians and tree huggers to feel better. Yet the tree huggers are to ignorant to know the difference, and the politicians are loving every bit of it. And hybrids are whole nother joke. What about all of the energy used to make those batteries, and then the disposal of them later on.

Too many people high up are lining there pockets to make a truely viable alternative fuel source. Just like to many higher ups are making to much money off of oil. How much you wanna bet that once the truckers get there money, that the congressional investigation will be forgotten against the oil companies record profits yet again.
