Engine looks nice, but I don't know if i could trust him. He claims a 3/8" plate will fix the transom where an engine mounting bolt pulled through it. This would make me question wether or not he took care of the engine.
What do you think, will a plate fix this transom?

Thats a 2 STROKE Johnson, and the transom looks shot to me.

I think that is a 4-stroke isn't it? Looks just like RB's 140hp. I could be wrong though.

that is definately a 60 deg loopoer. you can tell by the clamp bracket. the 4stroke wouldnt have the trailer legs. also the lower motor mounts four 5/8" bolts from the front. also the bottom mounting holes would have individual holes instead of slots if it were a 4stroke.
also that transom is shot.

Agreed the transom junk!! I had to hammer bolts out of holes in the transoms before and it doesn't move easy!!
To have a bolt pull thur, it has to be rotted!! and all the rust bleeding down from the transom is also a sign that it is all wet inside!!

The dead give away was "175." The "JohnZuki" was only available up to 140 hp. They never made the bigger engines available as Johnsons.

Just for arguments sake...the 140 was the biggest JohnZuki. Suzuki never put Johnson decals on the bigger engines.

It makes me feel all warm and fuzzy to know you guys are thinking about me when I'm gone......
I do believe they sold 200 and 225 Suzuki's w/ Johnson sticlkers on em, maybe not many, but a few.
Now 9.9 is as big as they go.

OK, I am man enough to admit when I am wrong, er, half wrong, but don;t nobody tell my wife...got it.
Seems that the 200/225 FS were available in 2004? However, I challenge anybody to find a 175 Johnson 4-stroke...:bat:

You are correct on the 150/175, they never were painted white.
And nobody needs to tell your wife, she already knows you are wrong.
