:clap: The beast is here. 2001 Mercury (Yamaha) 90 hp four stroke. It is a heavy beast of a motor for 90 hp. 386lbs.:head: The guy delivered it to MJ's junkyard, errrr.....I mean appliance repair, errrrr.....house. yeah. That's it.
Aside from a couple of scuffs on the motor cover, it appears to be in great shape. Approximately 100 hours on the motor. Just serviced at the dealer the end of last year. Came complete with controls, wiring, tach, cales, etc. I just need a prop for it.
For your viewing pleasure..........we'll start of with one of the big guy himself. Master appliance tech MJ;

I think I did okay for $2500. Now I just have to get it hung on the boat and sell the old motor and controls. :beer:

Chumbuddy thats a great deal. I paid $2000 last year for a used 15hp 4 stroke. Once you get that crusty stuff in the first picture cleaned off it'll be perfect.

Thanks guys. Just needs a good cleaning. The motor sat on a pallet at the marina since last year. She'll clean up nice though.
$2500 for this motor and I think I can get $1500 for the 50hp complete with controls, wiring, cables and stainless prop based on what most motors in this area are selling for. At the end I'll be into this for $1000 plus the cost of a new prop.:beer:

Hammer, come around more often and you'll be able to keep up with all the changes around here. No V for me.:hi: I just needed something small and good on gas for me and the little guy. I'll slum with MJ for the big water stuff.

You got that right!!!!!

You could go there with a tank fire off a shot and run the gate down and when I get home in the AM I would go in the house and wake all up ask what happened and they would all look at me and say what are you talking about??:bat:

He's not going to find a cleaner better running motor locally for that kind of money. He really was being a nudge about every little thing. He tried to tell us it was misfiring, which it wasn't. The only issue that came up was that the neutral safety switch caused the motor to not start twice. Just had to move the control lever back and forth a bit. Probably just a dirty wire contact. That motor starts so easy, it's rediculous to think that it might be misfiring.

Well, the boat will be leaving the Maytag Repairmans yard next week. I have a guy a couple miles from my house that said he would rig the new motor and controls for a couple hundred $$. I know I can do the job, but he's got the shop and hoist and all and he does it all the time. I figure it's money well spent and I don't have to rig a come-along to hoist the motor. The guy that bought the Johnson from me lives just down the street from him, so he'll take that then.
So, if all goes as planned, I should be making a shakedown run in about two to three weeks. I have to set up my VHF and GPS/Fishfinder, and flipback cooler seat, but I can do that anytime once it's back here in my yard.

I already have a new windshield coming any day now. That one might work for Sean though. I'll check it out.

Oooww Close, but my console is only 27" across. I think I am going to get one o off E-bay from a Mako CC, it measures a little over 28" and I figure I can block off the rest. Thanks though!:beer:
