ok guys its time for me to finally replace my steering cable
im going to cut the old one out and clean the tube and get all the grease and dirt out before i put in the new cable
what i would like to know is do i grease up the knew steering rod before i install it or just put it in clean because i think all the grease that i put in before is what caused the hard steering in the first place
grease attracts dirt
so do i grease it and what kind of grease OR do i put it in clean
you guys never failed me before so what ever you tell me im going to do
fishing is right around the corner youll be seeing me down at atlantic highlands ramp say hello

Use marine waterproof grease. Lightly grease with your fingertip after initial installation and before tightening the nut..

Man there's some serious de ja vu going on with this thread, or like Robin Williams said "vu ja de"; "I know damn well I've been here before".

I've not used that before but if it is anything like AntiSeize, it will be messy till you sell the boat to someone else.
Trying to find the word waterproof on the 24c but everything else looks good.
