Price looks good, Pics show everything I would want to see. I don't think she will last long with Striper season fastly approaching. Leave the ad the way it is for a week and see if you get any bites. If no bites I would consider a video of the motor running.

That is the cleanest that boat has been since you bought it, holy crap ;D
Looks like a great Wind came and blew all the crap off, there might even be a hint of wax on it ::)
Good luck selling Wind Talker, other than the addition of the video if you get the chance I think your add says it all.
You could ask Hammer for a pic of the official V20 Super Model at the helm, you might have to photoshop it in but that would grab my attention right quick ;D

I have my eye on 2 1977 Formula's *One here in ma. and the one in FL
I want the one in FL cause its clean and redone already, with outboard
But I believe that it is going to get out of my range or the guy isn't going to go thur with the sale if it doesn't get past $9K
I believe that cause I spoke with him on the phone a few times and thats kind of what he was saying.
The one here in MA. looks good but will need some TLC to make look nice and it is a I/O that I will have to convert when it dies, But I am sure I can get it for $4k or less.
I am going to look at the one in MA wed, then if all looks well I will go back Saturday for a sea trial and buy.
That of coarse the FL one doesn't go to high by Friday.
One way or another I will be getting a Formula soon, I have a third one on the back burner also not far from my house, But the guy is a little weird so I saving that one for last.
I can buy the one in MA before I sell mine if I switch trailers on mine before I sell.
I have a friend that wants my trailer and he will give me his old one + cash, If I do that I will sell mine for $4K with the older trailer and be ahead of the game.
The old trailer going to need a couple of rollers and a fender, but it is used every weekend and will go any were.

Any offers made on it yet ????
macojoe
08-30-2007, 10:16 AM
1 with a lot of questions, wanted to come look, but never called back??
2 others that want but have not got the cash and want me to old for them, I said first person to walk in the drive with cash gets it!!
I am thinking about swaping the trailers and offering it cheaper?? Maybe it will sell then?
Not that I think I have a gold mind out there but it looks good and solid, should sell! :'(

I would leave the nice trailer under it, that was one of the main concerns I had when buying, could I get it home.
Just be patient, the worst that happens is that you have to fish the fall run in a V-20. ;D
msbhammer
08-30-2007, 06:58 PM
Leave teh trailer with it, but pull off teh bracket. It will then sell. :-* :-* :-*

08-30-2007, 07:05 PM
I am pulling the trailer!! The used one is road worthy!!
New price with older trailer $4000 FIRM if I can';t sell for that I will burn it!! and no I will not remove the bracket first hammer ;)

Damm, if it sells at 4 grand, MJ will kill the resale value of V20's when Mulv and I try and sell ours for 10-g's. :'(
Quick, somebody bye my boat for $3,500.00 so I can buy MJ's!! ;D

MJ:
I'd suggest you keep reposting your ad on Craigslist. Nobody will go back to 8/20 to find it. Especially with the new pricing. It should have sold by now.

This boat is priced $6000 below market. Everyone who knows V-20's will tell you that the 75', 79', and 86' V20's are the best years to buy. This boat is a steal.

I think you should keep the V. You said it yourself, you have spent 9 years getting it like you want.

Thanks guys!! I will repost, and you are right Boat it should have sold by now??
I swaped out the trailers today so she ready for someone to use right now!
If someone from the board would buy it I would leave all my numbers in the chart plotter! and if you are a fluker, they are worth there weight in GOLD!

MJ, STOP!
If you haven't had at least half a dozen scammers willing to buy at your asking price with a personal check then you just are not doing a good enough job of advertising!
Most folks this time of year have no compelling reason to buy a boat. But a knowlegable and finacially capable buyer would definately be interested in your boat. How do you meet him? Doesn't ebay give you the opportunity to relist for free? The heck with their policy, put in email links and enticing wording that a deal can be worked out offline. They got your $40 bucks now get your bang. Get creative. Put the trailer up for sale contingent on the boat selling first. Put the boat on Craig's List @ $3000 w/o trailer, advertise motor seperate without a price. You may get someone with a piece 'O Crap boat looking to repower that will decide your package is an easier route. Waste their time instead of other way around. Don't second guess yourself. If a knowledgable buyer shows up you will know it and reach a happy medium.
When I had my $1000 boat up for sale I was averaging 4-5 calls a day for a couple of weeks... only one of them bought.

09-05-2007, 05:28 AM
I just want and need it to be gone!
Ebay sucked!! I get no traffic by the house so i moved it to were there must be 10000 cars a day passing it, Its in the want ad, its in two places on crigslist,
I bet i have had 10 calls if I am lucky and nothing! 4 people did not have the cash, the others just never called back??

keep it to the spring MJ....you'll get a better response on it then....everyone is winding down and not thinking about boats up north...well except us nutcases lol....definetly keep it in a high vis area.......also ebay has free auctions for the whole month of sept...no listing fee's...keep it listed.
