Got some good news this afternoon. I have to have my gallbladder removed. Now that usually would not be good news, but I was real scared of the alternative. You see, when my gallbladder problem was diagnosed via CT scan, it was also discovered that I had a small cyst on my pancreas. Doc said it could be nothing, or it could be, gulp, cancer. That scared the bejesus out of me, especially in light of my Pop dying of stomach cancer a few years back. Then I researched pancreatic cancer and found it is among the most deadly forms of the disease. So, I was sent to have an endoscopic ultrasound to look at, and take a biopsy of, the cyst.

Results of the biopsy came back today, and there was no evidence of malignancy. So, instead of having major surgery to remove the cyst and being laid up for 6 weeks with the prospect of cancer, I will just have to have an outpatient surgery to remove the gallbladder (through an arthroscope--kind of like what's used for a knee), and I should be good to go in less than a week. Whew. What a relief!!

I was MISdiagnosed by a young inexperienced doctor 2 years ago with stomach cancer. Talk about SCARED! I was 26!....longest day of my life till I could get to a REAL doc that I knew well.

Good luck you are in our prayers!
