I really like this boat. Any of you out there have a 25' coastal or been in one? If memory serves me correctly, one of you members in Mass. has a coastal.

I looked for the 25' Coastal in the 1982 catalogue and could not find it. I tried 1981 and 1983 as well. Is the 25' Coastal referenced in this ad the same as the 248 Sportsman?

Guy next to us in the marina had one. Boat rides real nice and has alot of cockpit room as well as cabin room. Looked just like my Dads 24 Grady Offshore but had more interior room. Owner loved it and lived on it all weekend.

The 248 and 25 are the same beast!! There are different models offshore, sportsman, ect... ect.. I like the offshore a it doesn't give you the step ups to the seats. Makes for more room IMO. Some like the sportsman as when you step up to the seats you have dry feet all day!

Anybody live near and who might be willing to check out this boat? It looks nice, and the price is right.

Are yall absolutley sure thats a Coastal? It looks exactly like my 1986 Sportsman, right down to the useless hatches on the step-up.

The 248 COASTAL early on later became the SPORTSMAN 250. My buddies 84 248 says COASTAL on the side, yet it is the same as the later 250 with the 1/4 bunks. WELLCRAFT was confusing with some of there designations, sort of like how the last 250 SPORTSMAN was the same as a late 80's COASTAL.

my 84 Coastal 248 came back with a 84 Sportsmen 250 title when i sent it off. Those hulls are bad for having soft spots around the pedestal seats. Plus soft Cabin floors.

You aint joking Skools. We had to replace the wood in the step up on ours. We tried to remove the step up out of the boat but its impossible without taking the hull apart. We ended up repairing it in sections. The cabin floor does seem soft, but not enough to bother me............ for now at least. Skools does your Sportsman/Coastal have the diagonal lines on the sides?

nope no stripes here i'm going to take the whole step up pedestal section out of the boat and rebuild it all with new material maybe core in place of wood.

When do you plan on doing it? I'd like to see how you'll do it.Do you plan on keeping the existing storage areas? On ours that storage seems like a waste of space. When we tried taking the step up out all we could do was move it forward or backward. We couldn't turn it either, it was just stuck under the gunnels.
