My buddy at work said he caught his limit in rock (stripers) in the Chowan river yesterday. Maybe Ill get time ta catch some this week sometime. Working 7-3 this week, but get home about 3:30. The rivers about 10 min from my house. Its time to go FISHING!!!

Its not getting dark until 6:30 or so, you should be able to snag a few in 3 hours.:sly:

Thats what Im thinkin. Buddy said they're not real big but keepers. Said biggest one was 20lbs. The rest were much smaller.

Those are much better than the ones I'll catch this week, which are ZERO pounds.

Speaking of rivers and stripers, any of you Wilmington boys hear anything about the Cape Fear stripers this year?

I just went in the Cape Fear 3-4 weeks ago fishing for trout and caught a 25 pounder on ultra light tackle using a white Gulp minnow with a white 1/4 ounce jig head. I tried to post the pics on here but could not figure out how to resize them. I have been wanting to go back but my fishing buddies here are limited since I just moved here.


I think I am going to mount it due to people around here saying they don't usually catch Striper that big as far up the river as I was. You from around here Randleman?

Well I aint been yet. Between working an fighting fires in 40 mph winds, its been a tuff week!! Got 5 days off starting this weekend, maybe Ill get to go then. Hopefuly the wind will die down so I can go.
