I was crawling around under the boat and I noticed that two of the chines look like the lost the battle with the trailer in nearly the same spot on the hull. The affected area appears to be about 8" long and about a 1" wide area....thoughts on how to fix it? Any help would be appreciated. The chine on the starboard side has spiderwebbing on it (can't really tell as the prior owner put some kind of peanut butter looking substance over it) while the other side has the spiderwebbing around the initial impact area. Just a note, this boat will spend around 6-8 months a year in a lagoon...I'd like this to be solid, watertight etc, etc.... ;D

I can get some.....probably in a few days...in the process of relocating our office to another bedroom so my son can have the bigger one.

I'll post pic's as soon as I can!

First you will have to clean out the damaged area. Is the gelcoat chipping up? If so, you have to dig out all loose material. The area will have to be rough sanded and cleaned prior to repair.

Use West systems epoxy to repair the glass below the waterline. They sell it at any boat store. Its the best for waterproofness. After fully cured, sand, and apply gel coat over the cured epoxy. Sand, wetsand to 1200 grit, compound, buff, wax and you are done.

If your boat is bottompainted then just epoxy the thing, sand it smooth and repaint with antifouling.
