This question is about the 3 drains in my 72 that drain water from the 2 fish boxes and the cuddy hold area.

Question is, can I confidently drain water through these holes without rotting the inards of my boat? It doesn't look like they are plumbed, rather they just let the water fall down on the outer shell and back to the underside drain.

Or, should I plug the holes with plugs and try not to get any water in there?

Thanks guys,
Blue

BR...my '74 is set up the same way...been hosin' 'em out and drainin' 'em for 6 yrs ...I guess there's no way to tell until you pull the floor up wheather or not that water is contacting any wood...not SUPPOSED to...should drop right into hull between the stringers and run back to bilge...unless you have a specific reason, I wouldn't worry 'bout it... ;) 8)...

My 75 is the same!! I have no problem so far, (5 years)that I know of??
Just use them! You will never stop the water from getting into the boxes! There is really nothing you can do. So use them!!

Now This is were we could all strip a V20 get toghter and redesign it! Plum the drains, make them all self bailing add and delete all the things we want and have the perfect boat!!

Water goes thru the drains, into the hull, back to the bilge, pump comes on, out go de water...self bailin'...what could be easier...?... ;D

That guy who did the Mako remake that BR posted...we need to find an el-cheapo and let him have at it... 8)...

E-mailed them...he had to sop that project for a while and work on his house...they will post when work resumes...if somebody would take care of my family, I'd go work w/that guy for free.... ;) :)
