I just got done spraying a boat that belongs to a buddy of mine(not a V20), and it got me in the mood to get mine prepped and ready for paint.

Back to mine:
She is stripped,no tank or anything so she is as light as a V20 gets. Now is my opportunity to roll her over in an effort to get the bottom as slick as possible for painting. I have rolled many boats in the past, but not one this big. I am gonna get about 8 of my biggest buddies and go for it. Wish me luck?? What do you guys think...anybody ever rolled one?? ;D

Dude, that sounds really, really scary :o

I wouldn't worry too much how the bottom looks. Paint it best you can on the trailer. Who's gonna see it anyway?

But, don't let me discourage you. I'm sure you probably know more about it than I do! It just seems like something could get broken (like bones and stuff).

Let us know how it turns out. Also, I wouldn't mind seeing pictures of that feat!

You're right, Stinky...all things being relative, the amount of work we did is nothing... ;) :D...like to see what that guy could do w/a certain '74 V20 I know about... ::)

That was a heckofalota work.

Seems like a catch 22 you know...a man with all that time surely had the money to buy new, don't you think? If his time is considered money, I bet he didn't save much.

That is one sweeeeeeet Mako though! Dude, if he can flip that big ol boat, I think you can tip the V20 ;)

BR...I might be wrong, but I don't think a guy like that is out to save as much as he's out to create...in this case, create exactly the boat he wants and thumb his nose at present day boat makers who think "Eurostyle transoms" are what the market wants... ::) :P...somebody w/that much talent HAS to use it some way....he's an artist... ;) ;D

I e-mailed them to see if there are any finished project pics comin'...I'd like to see some... 8)...

I agree, with you RA. He is most definitely not saving or TRYING to save any money. He is doing it just to do it and be able to have somethin he created. if I where wealthy and didnt have to work I am afraid I would be the same way. I wonder if he could close in a v20...ta know with a built in cabin and hardtop.....that would be SWEEET!!!

V 20 w/a pilot house...hmmm...you'd have to be carefull...sounds like it could get a little bow-heavy...then you'd have to counter-balance w/twin 4-stroker 115s on a bracket....hmmm ::)

SH, there was a V-20 in my harbor last summer that had a 1/2 tower on it. I think it looks pretty good, a little top heavy but not as much as you might think. I need to find out if she was just passing through or berths there and try to capture it on camera this year.
