I just paid $24 at West Marine for a 12X27X1/4" piece for a small repair I need to do (remove a flush mounted fire extinguisher mount that blocks rods in the starboard rod box)! What do you guys with all of your projects pay for this stuff? Did I get hosed?

The board is not cheap anywhere, but at a marine store you will pay top dollar. A local plastics dealer will sell it at a more reasonable price. Bill Mc ;D

MJ says their prices have gone up, but they're still cheaper than West or other marine supply stores.

Seaboard and Starboard are essentially the same composition. Different companies. I've found the CPG Seaboard to be a bit cheaper though. Search your area for plastics distributors and sign makers. You should be able to come up with something local.

Don't know if these guys sell sheets or not and if so, what pricing. May be worth a call if you're in need of more. 8)

A full sheet of 3/8 Seaboard from the site that CB posted, is $116 for a 96" X 54" and Seaboard gives you many more choises of color!!

That is what I made the gas tank covers and the rear doors out of.

Anything you can do with wood can be done with this stuff!!
