I am in the process of replacing my rod boxes on my v21 and it took me a while to find everything on this site. The search function is great, but tons of posts come up and sometimes they are called rod boxes, other times side panels. *To save time for the next person, I figured I would post everything I found in one spot. I will also add this to the links section of the forums. I have a feeling I won’t be the last person looking to replace these…

This guy is very helpful and can place an order for you (through a dealer they ise in Ohio). *Wellcraft now only carries rod boxes for the v21 models, which are longer than the ones used in v20s. *The outside dimensions of the boxes they carry is 16.5” by 60.5”. When ordering, note model and year and they will match color. The part number for this box is 68804167. *

Based on posting, this is where West Marine gets their boxes.

Hi, Great info - alot of which I have compiled as well. I still have not found a rod box to fit the opening for the V21 size you posted (actually, its the same size for my '88 also). From my investigations - cost of a box from SSI would be roughly $350/pair; from Steinhatchee would be roughly $300-350/pair. Has anyone ever gotten a quote thru Wellcraft for a replacement rod box posted about ??? So far, that would be the only rodbox that would be large enough to exactly fit my cutout.

I called Wellcraft and each rod box is $250 each, but they couldn't vouch for what a dealer would charge. i.e. the local dealer may mark this up.

I HAVE A FRIEND THAT DOES FIBERGLASS REPAIR AND CONSTRUCTION. ONCE I GET BACK FROM MY VACATION HE IS GOING TO QUOTE ME A PRICE TO MAKE NEW BOXES. I ALREADY SPOKE TO HIM ABOUT OFFERING THEM TO THE GUYS ON THIS SITE. I AM EXPECTING THEM TO BE EXCELLENT QUALITY, DURABLE FIBERGLASS BOXES. I WANT TO GET A COUPLE OF DECALS MADE LIKE THE SHIRTS SO THEY CAN BE GLASSED OVER. ET ( MY BUDDY) MAKES SURF BOARDS AND IS AN AUTHORIZED REPAIR FACILITY FOR A FEW OTHER SURFBOARD BUILDERS THAT ARE OUT OF STATE. HE ALSO HAS DONE A LOT OF BOAT REPAIRS, HIS PARTNER JUST RETIRED AS Q&A MAN AT SEARAY. I'LL LET YOU GUYS KNOW
