I'm getting ready to install a transom mount transducer on a boat that I have never had in the water! The instructions say to use a couple of cable clamps on the wire between the transducer and the hole that passes through the transom. Can someone explain exactly where the water line will be on the transom so I don't drill any holes that are too low? From pictures in the gallery, it seems to be about 2"-3" above the back corners. I have a 305 I/O. Any other tips for this project are welcome too.

Thanks!

Just drill the holes you need, make sure that you counter sink the holes slighty so that the glass won't crack.
Put 5200 on the screws before you insert. Thats it!! It will never leak.
Do this even if you drill above the water line!! The boat goes in the water it all gets wet!

CP2...if you're lookin' for a second opinion...MJ's got it right...you'll never have a problem if you follow that proceedure...5200 or 4200...even a GOOD quality Marine Silicone...after all, your mounting bracket for the transducer itself is below the water-line, so why sweat one or two more... ;) ;D...
