I need some more help please.

I put in a new-to-me tilt/trim pump and 3-button harness in an 81 Welcraft V20 as most of you know

The tilt and trim was working ok after the new pump was installed, though it would move up and down super slow, painfully slow.

Now that I lowered it, it will not come back up? It was going up and down before.

The buttons work and the pump runs, but the outdrive does not move. While experimentating before it was all the way down, I noticed that it would still lower, but will not go up.

It was going up and down before.

There is no clicking noise and the pump seems to be working properly. Just no upward movement.

I forgot to mention. How much oil should it take?

There is a VENT screw on the pump not far from the fill hole on top of the reservoir. Should I fill till it pours out the vent hole?

Is it possible to overfill?

I ran thru working the drive up and down a couple of times to work the air out and it seemed to be working ok.

Would this also cause the drive to raise and lower so slowly?

Thanks you in advance. I really apprecaite the advice.

On my Volvo, i filled it till it came out the vent hole and than rans it several times and checked the level, had to add oil 2 more times before all the air got out of the system.

Thanks, I will try that.

Could it be a battery issue. If the battery was losing charge would that effect the speed it went up and down, even if the trim pump sounded like it was running strong?

Depends on how down the battery is. Low voltage makes amperage go up. Put a meter on the battery and test voltage. If it's 9 volts or less it could effect it.
