this is my question, i have the manual and it shows how to test the recifier
what i want to know is does the recifier have to be attached to the motor block or can you test it befpre you attach it to the motor like right out of the box

Best I can figure, it has to be attatched to the block. A couple of the procedures are looking for continuity to ground. If you have the manual that boatersworld sells I'm pretty sure that the new one will fail outa the box. I seem the remember that the test results are printed backwards. They look for continuity on one set and not the other. Just don't be surprised if your results come out backward.

So does this mean your problem is fixed? I love it when that happens.
