getting ready to remove my 170 merc. to get rebuilt. Does anybody have any helpful hints regaurding this job? Do I have to drop the out drive to remove the engine?... ???

YES YOU HAVE TO PULL THE OUTDRIVE TO PULL THE INPUT SHAFT FROM THE BACK OF THE ENGINE,THERE ARE SOME PARTS ON EBAY FOR MERC 470 ENGINES GOOD LUCK
