Got the photobucket account and can now share.
Like many of you, the side rod boxes on my 82 came with splits and/or crackes. Here is my repair of one of several spots.

Fiberglass tape on the back side, also taped around the whole perimiter.

Same spot - filled, sanded, and painted - with refinished teak for effect.

Looks great!! You did some nice work there!!
As for your pictures, if you can resize them before posting it would be better. 800X600 is a good size for posting.

MJ - think I got the resize figured out now - just did the 75% reduction in photobucket - thanks
RP - Its all a BIG project, I'll post this or that as I move along. Then do a before and after gallery when I get my account. It's pretty well stripped and lookin for paint as we speak.

Step - I sanded the area and wiped with acetone then laid the glass. If you've never worked with fiberglass, it's easy, don't be intimidated - it's just like paper mache when you were a kid. The next day it will be rock solid. On the frontside it was sanded clean and wiped like before. Filled and leveled with our friend 'marine tex'. Sanded and painted. The paint is Interlux 'pre-kote' primer followed by 'brightside' white. Real happy with the result - the question is 'will it still look good in a couple years?' Sounds like a bunch of work but I did several things at the same time - like the other rod box and some beat up hatch liners. Go for it and have fun.
Here's a hatch liner with fiberglass tape around the perimeter and paint. Didn't detail these out big time just made em look clean.
