check out this one for sale on ebay, maybe it will help you. *IMO, I think it would look better with the mouth open more, but if you like it that's all that counts:)

Well, the decal design just wasnt going on as easy at I thought. So I am backing to painting. Hope to have the teeth on Thursday. Also installed the bim top.
Started the motor up today and ran her for only 5 minutes. She wasnt peeing much at all and then the temp alarm went off.

Hammer, I wouldn't sweat it just yet. I've had the motor get warm on the hose as well. The hose barely flows enough water for the motor at idle and will / can suck a hose flat above idle. Also, those Merc's don't pee till the thermostats open.

True....but if he's getting an overheat alarm the motor should be hot enough to be opening the thermostats.

Hammer, I'd change out your impellor and thermostats if you don't know when they were last done.

I'm guessing that it started to pee a little after a few minutes. Regardless, the thermostats are $10 each. Water pump kit is about $50. Hammer, it's all easy work. The thermostats might take 5 minutes each side on that beast you got. I can do the water pump in 40 minutes or so only 'cause I've done it a few times. Piece o' cake bud.

Also, Mercs don't pee with the pressure of other outboards, it's more of a volume thing.

Thanks Guys. the motor wont turn or do anything now. Hopefully its only a wasisted battery cable. Old cables are worn. Hopefully replacing them today along with two new batteries.
The guy who I paid to service the engine cleaned the old thermastas, wich I was disapointed in. Hell, whats 10 bucks. He also serviced teh lower unit as well and all the fluid poured out when I fully lowered the lower unit yesturday Hopefully new stats and punp along with batteries, cables, fuel filter, she will be good to go.
I HOPE !!

Hammer, you'll see a hose going from top of one head to other. T-stats are under the covers the hose hooks to. A pair of 7/16 bolts on each if I remeber.

Hmm, Not sure now. Eye to small, maybe I like the design Capt.bent did instead. Hmm. hell with it, one more thing scratched from the list of do things.

Oh yeah, the reason my freakin motor wasnt starting. Damm battery terminal was a bit loose, Whew....but then again.....DUH !!!. Went ahead and put in two new Seavolt 850 series batties along with hold down trays. Nest, New battery cable wires.

We had it all week MJ got the broken up clusters of storm and wind coming thru now with breaks of bright sun. Hopefully it will finish blowin thru soon. Guys that went out this week said once you got out of the bays you had anywhere from 6-10 footers and then a series of 8-12 footers would roll in. :o
