Morning, all! While cleaning up the P D I noticed that this is cracked (black windshield support) at the base.

I know West Marine had them years ago, but a check at ours turned up nothing close. We even went through his old catalogs and came up empty. Anyone know where I can find one?
Also, I'm looking for some grommets to go around these holes in my rod boxes. The old ones have cracked (I think they were plastic, or maybe nylon) and left me with these rough edges.

Not a big deal, but it doesn't look finished this way. The holes are roughly 3" in diameter. A friend with a Grady has some with rubber flaps, but they're smaller.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. ;D

For the holes if you cannot find what you looking for try car door edge guard. They make the door guard in a soft plastic which you can bend around the holes and it has a groove that will allow it to slide over the rim of the whole. Go with the black has it will not crack when bending.

Good idea, Stillrunning. *Thanks!
If you go with that just run it around and when you get back to where you started cut it about 1/4 inch to long and slide it in. If its to long trim to about an 1/8 too long and that should work. It will shrink some so you want it nice and tight fit. This was a trick we would use when I did car accessories.

Did you check with Perko ? I had to replace them on my old 1974 years ago . To the best of my memory they made them .

I looked at Perko's website, but they don't have them. They have "windshield adjusters," but they're a different animal. Might make them work, but would prefer to go with original.

Thanks, Mulv. Mine measure to 15", and all the Taylors I've seen only go to 14". If I had to I'm sure I could make them work, drilling new holes and replacing both sides. I'm going to keep looking.

These kind of look like what I have, but the pic is a little fuzzy.

And I don't get the "hydro-lift" part . . .

I JUST BOUGHT THEM FROM LAND & SEA, THEY'RE "TAYLOR MADE" 14" LONG AND ALL CHROMED
ALUMINUM, BOUT $28.00 EACH, THE BLACK PLASTIC ONES RUN FOR ABOUT $14.00 EACH
AS FOR GROOMETS, IT'S BETTER TO COUNTERSINK THE HOLE AND THE SCREW WILL GO IN COMPLETE AND BE FLUSH WITH SURFACE.

WHEN I REPLACED MY ROD BOXES I SENT MULV ALL MY STARBOARD TRIMMING AND THAT'S THE WAY I DID IT, COUNTERSUNK ALL SCREWS. I DO NOT KNOW IF HE INSTALLED THEM NOR IF HE LIKED THEM SINCE HE HAS NOT ACKNOWLEDGE HERE IF HE RECEIVED THEM.

Go right to Taylor, they are the ones that made your windshield in the first place!!
They have a whole host of parts on there website. You will have to call them for exact part.
Here is there web site and they list support poles, but it is just general, you will have to call.
