Well, its not much of a repair, but its something. I removed that gay a$$ anchor holder that didnt fit my anchor. grinded down the holes and a few others, and started playing with the West System. The next this I know, I was sanding under the Lewes Moon light., but I guess its better then sanding under latest midnight fires we been having. So hopefully sometime this week if the weather holds, I'll get the hatch back on along with the newly stained hatch rails. Using this crappy Interlux paint. The Awlgrip is just to much cash for a tight wad light myself. *;D

Cant call it cheap A$$ paint at 35 bucks a quart, how about crappy paint. Buts its what I can afford.
At least until my tax return. ;D ;D ;D

I have done the same repair!! along with old att mount and bow rail holes.
I used Formula 27, its white and with a little sanding the color blended right in and no paint!!

Good work there!

Does West System still smell like peanutts?

That looks like bondo. Is the West System fiberglass or plastic filler (or both)? I have a few holes I need to fix up too.

West system is a resin. What M.J. and STINK did with the Form-27 sounds alot easier then what I did. I had some left over so figure I'd put it to use.
here's the first coat on the bow and third coat on the hatch covers.

Not sure if it still smells like peanuts, but I got a buzz going. ;D

Only down fall is that once you start sliding the hatches back and fourth, it will start tearing back into the paint. Seen that vinly trim that you guys put around your starboard dashes, thinking I might see if it works on the underside of the forward hatch cover. Will be at West Marine in the morning shoplifting, oops, I meant to say shopping. ;D

OH yeah, I forgot to mention something.
Parish posted a pic. sometime ago of a muder suspect wanted here in Lewes, well the employees at West Marine have not seen me there in awhile. When I went into the store, they thought I was the murder suspect since I matched the wanted poster so well.
I finally had to say who I was and who I worked for. :o

DONE:
Finished it up today, just need to pull the tape. Mounted the hatch rails back down along with caulking around them. Now onto the anchor roller or fixing the keel/painting.

Thanks MAC. ;) Looked her over today, seen a few spots where the foam roller left bubbles, but hell with it. did the best I could with what I had and it looks better then how it was before. So all I need now are the birds to fly over it and crap all over teh new paint. ;D ;D ;D
