... own a leaning post!! She isn't quite finished up yet but here are a couple pics to hold yall over. ....sorry for the quality...just my phone..forgot the cam again. :P
A 94qt ice chest will fit underneath and now the 150qt (former seat) will go in front of the console.
I decked it will 1/2" starboard and plan of coming back with some type of storage/tackle holder in the center of it. I'm just not sure what yet so it'll work as a rigging station until then. 8)

I am going to make the "L" shaped pad that will go on the top/front this week. I also haven't finished up polishing out the aluminum. It will look more uniform later

Here is a pic of the new starboard dash, switches, etc....
Its not screwed in yet, but yall get the point. ;D

On another board, a guy just installed a post, they have a bag that is removeable that attaches to the fram work and then he has made a live well under that.
I can't transfer pic from work, but I will get some tomorrow and post here for you consideration.

The rod holders were a nice detail!! I am working with the same helm/fishing space limitations all owner/operators consider. It is funny when I talk to my fishing buddys that have spent time fishing on my boat (always in the casting deck area), They never noticed the limited fishing room in the stern or the water on the stern floor.

Lookin good stink. Did you have the frame custom made? I remember you saying something about some aluminum being bent...

03-28-2007, 12:57 AM
I was going to build the live well, but decided against it due to not going bracket. I had to figure things out first. Glad I waited the one I mocked up woulda been way to big. ::)
I bent, cut and fabbed all the aluminum myself. I brazed it together (since I don't have the proper aluminum welding equipment..YET) and then took it to a buddy that zipped her all closed for me. 8)

Thanks Mac.
I worked all weekend on the live well and pump. I got them in and all is working well.
I got one of the "bait saver" type 20 gallon white garbage cans from a janitorial supply. They wanted 94 bucks for it at Academy with a little pump and a lid. Screw that! I paid 20 bones and fabbed it into the back of my leaning post with a starboard hinged top. Ill post pics tomorrow. 8)

Here are a couple pics.
I got a little carried away with some modifications to my wash down system. *::)
I made a "faucet" of sorts in the back for washing hands after cutting baits and dressing fish and stuff. Seems pretty silly to some I'm sure, but it'll come in handy. Next to it is my wash down hose. It has a quick disconnect on it in case I want to get it up out of the way. As you can see the face is made outta my favorite stuff STARBOARD!! *;D
http://www.forumpictureprocessor.com/pictureprocessor/images/boat%20011_4.jpg
Here is a better pic of the "faucet". It is just a piece of 1/2 schedule 40 heated and bend the way I wanted it. Now if the system is charged all you do it flip the inline cutoff and flip it off. the water flows accordingly.
http://www.forumpictureprocessor.com/pictureprocessor/images/boat%20006_12.jpg
Here is the final leaning post shot after the live well add on and the seat too.
http://www.forumpictureprocessor.com/pictureprocessor/images/boat%20005_13.jpg
I came through the deck plate and epoxied a piece of 2" PVC for the water lines and air hose. This way I don't have to cut a big hole in my deck and the water from the deck wont just pour into the bilge. I'm probably gonna put some kinda boot on it as well.
http://www.forumpictureprocessor.com/pictureprocessor/images/boat%20012_2.jpg
I even got all motivated and refinished the ONLY two pieces of teak I own. *:D
http://www.forumpictureprocessor.com/pictureprocessor/images/boat%20007_6.jpg
http://www.forumpictureprocessor.com/pictureprocessor/images/boat%20008_3.jpg
In one of my smarter moments I went ahead and rigged the wash down pump (located in bilge next to bilge pump) so that the flip of a fast disconnect and the wash down pump becomes an emergency bilge pump. It will pump it out of the faucet or wash down hose outlet and out onto the self bailing deck. *8)

Thats great!! Now I got some more ideas!!
What did you use for a pump?? I don't know if you saw the pumps I have in another thread?
http://www.wellcraftv20.com/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.cgi?board=Repairs;action=display;num=11752631 96;start=15#15
Do you think that wwould work??
And I like the fauset for washing!!
I don't know what is behing the wall were you have that but some use a 4" PVC pipe and push that coiled hose in it to keep it out the way when not used.

Its a washdown pump in the bilge with a thru hull MJ.
Oh and YES I want to hide the hose, but I kinda dont have the room. My shrimp trawl fills that space behind it and the other side is batteries. That why I put a fast connect on it so I can throw it in with the batteries....best I can do under these circumstances. :-/

I know what you are using I was asking if you think the 2 pumps I showed in the other threat would work for a wash down or I needed something different??

Oh ...sorry MJ I missed tht sentence..sometimes I read faster than my brain can intake...big shocker there I know. ::)
Hell yeah I bet they would work!! My washdown pump is only 3.9 GPM and its STOUT! The pressure is as good as any you would get at your house. Those 9GPM deals would be GREAT. Just hang on they might blow you off the boat. ;D
Oh and be mindful of battery draw if they are that powerful...what kinda amperage they pullin?

That is some nice work there SH! I was trying to figure out a way to make a faucet myself. I have decided on just bringing the pipe out of the side like yours but higher, and just put an elbow pointing down. But I like yours.
I dont mind leaning over to wash my hands, I am just tired of dropping pliers, hook outs, bait knives, etc overboard when trying to wash them.
Plus my kids can't reach the water over the side and I make them take off fish and cut bait, especially the girls, don't want them getting dependant on any males.

Hey Stink you can remove the writing on your PVC pipe with laquer thinner and have a nice clean white shinny pipe ;D

Says it has a 12 amp draw
Thanks I am going to try it tomorrow on something.
Stinky_Hooker
04-04-2007, 08:10 AM
Randle, it seems I am with you on that one. I drop at least a pair of pliers and a knofe over every other trip until I got some of those titanium ones with a sheath and lanyard. Now everyone else drops em overboard and wants to borrow mine. I always tell them "uhh no, thats why they are on MY belt and not yours" ::)
MJJ, cool it should work. 12 amps is pretty stout, but not too bad. It would be ok I bet, if it pushes the water alright.
Skools, I have done that on accident before, but didn't think of doing it intentionally.... thanks! ;D

CB does it show where the shallow areas are? Billy Mac ;D
macojoe
04-05-2007, 12:19 PM
No Mac, it does not show the shallows, But thats why I have a matching Garmin 160 Fish finder ;D
I will tell you this, it is awesome! I know they have better ones now, But I have been in fog so thick that you can not see one end of the boat from the other!!
And thats the truth!
This thing is dead on, I have never missed the mark! I would never hesitate to go out fog or not!
I have friends that have followed me that want to turn back, cause they have no idea were they at.
But after we make to the fish and the fog lifts they say I am so glad we came!!
Sorry Stink no software, came preloaded, and if I ever have a problem, the guy that loaded it said they can reload.
I do have a Maptec program for the computer. Its a boot leg copy so you cant use it to upload to the unit.
But you can look up anything you want to get Lat/longs and even print a chart if you wanted to.
I use it to scout some areas here at home and then get the numbers, feed them in so manually so I have a idea were I am going.
Did you get the plug in for the house? I plug mine in right next to the computer and feed numbers in and type numbers into thecomputer to keep a record, just incase the dies I have a paper copy.
Stinky_Hooker
