The gas cap on my V has course threads, the hole has fine threads, I guess the prior owner lost the original and replaced with this one.

I have been unable to find a fine thread gas cap so far, any suggestions?

I yanked and replaced the fuel cap, vent cap, vent hose and fuel line.

Look on ebay for a new unit, and replace the old.

does yous stick up like the side tanks? I used brass pipe fitting ends, 1 1/2 I think.

I figured that I would have to just replace the whole thing, but I will look at the brass thing MJ.

Thanks

they sell replacement caps at west/boaters world, sounds like someone replaced your cap with a waste cap or water cap, they use different threads and sizes so they won't get mixed up and the wrong cap put in the wrong filler, just look at the package, it should say fuel or gas

It says "gas" on it. *All the ones @ those places were the same as the one I have that don't fit. *Maybe I need a water cap for my gas tank.
