Well guys, I got her done today. Took the boat down to my buddy's garage, "Jim Phillips", he's one of our new members, a boat tec, and a good friend. Jim was letting me use his garage while he went out to do some service calls. He placed a bunch of orange cones out in front of teh boats so I wouldnt hit them. :-/ Well thats a differnt story ;D, After Jim seen my bak up job and knowing I'm still a green horn or idiot, he decided to stay and show me the ropes. ;D
It was great having a engine hoist and power tools. ;)
Jim says it went pretty easy. Jim cleaned up all the parts and painted them before installing, while the paint dryed, we changed out the automotive plug wires !! >:(
All in all, Jim helped me out and she's done. Now its on to the bow lights and pulpit. Here's a few pics. for the guys who have a picture fetish. Jim will be at the party as well on June 2nd too. ;)

Jim hooked me up with some Merc. paint. Once the weather is nicer, I'll redo the lower unit.

Hammer, its good to have friends in the right places ;D Looking good, when I did mine on the 88' I removed the other bracket, glad it worked out for you. Whats this about auto plug wires? She ought to run great with new wires.

Yo AIR, thats what I was gonna do as well, but Jim said it was much easier doing the other side. Didnt have to disconect the throttle cable. Thank god because I broke it the last time I touched it.
My plug wires looked like they were made for a car. The plug caps wernt a 90 bend and teh wire itself was differnt. But then again, they did plug in the coils right. Guess they were just some cheap wires.
Did find that a few of my spark plugs came Extremely loose. Does this ever happen to anyone else ??

I'll take a guess at your plug issue. Mine uses NGK BU8H plugs with a compression or "crush" washer on them. I'm guessing that in trying not to damage the threads, somebody didn't crush the washer enough, or left the washer off all together ???

Well, those washers are a one use item. If plugs were loose, it will affect compression and performance. Its gets reel ugly when one gets pushed out.

Hammer, are you happy with the height of your swim platform? I'll be attatching one to my boat in the next week or two.
How do the shamrocks handle? I was looking at those before you guys addicted me to V20's.

Hey Tuna, yeah I'm happy at were I mounted my platform. I didnt want no fittings below the waterline.
I was in the Shamrock when my buddy was installing a new starter, but not in the water in one. Kinda reminds me of a little tug boat. I like them. ;D
