well i get down to PCB and think i'm going to have a week of fishing bliss..monday i visit old friends and do alil house hunting....tuesday i was going fishing!

i get to the ramp and lower the motor..BLOOSH! all the tilt and trim fluid comes out......now i've had a slow leak from the seals for awhile but usually i just add alil fluid and i'm good to go....i guess the 14hr trip at 70mph down the highway finally finished it off...lol...

well now that its in the down position and all the fluid is out....it wont go back up!....i tried the manual release screw but it barely budges and i end up stripping the screw...now i'm fooked...

me and the marina mechanic tried to get it tilted back up for about an hour..tried all kinds of things..no dice...if i could have got it tilted back up , i could have removed the T&T and put a rebuild kit on it,got it tilted just a bit, enough to trailer it back to lot....looks like no fishin for me...i went and parked it back in the storage lot....i'm just gonna wait till i get my engine hoist and stand then pull the motor..but that'll be in june sometime....:(

here's my $35 a month storage spot , about the only thing that has gone right so far lol

Kajun...looks like a great storage set-up for a good price ya got there 8) ... when the Mighty Blow comes, you got some serious concrete to lash the boat down to ;) ...

Bummer about the T&T, but do ya gotta pull the motor to rebuild it??... once you get the pressure released and tilted up, wouldn't it be easier to do on the transom?...

MJ....i'm not actually moving down here till june 1st..then i have to find a house with a garage..which could take awhile..then once i find it the movers will deliver my furniture/household goods and engine stuff that has been packed up and in storage since febuary...

phat.. its a 94' 140 johnson..i stripped the screw top..

reel...yea if i cant get it raised on the transom you have to pull the whole motor....which is no big deal cuz i was gonna pull it anyway once i get my new powerhead on my force......thats why i'm not bringing it to a shop now, no use wasting money getting it fixed when i'm gonna pull it off in a month or so........i'll have it off on my stand and do it cheap as possible lol

kajun, i noticed the fl v20 hammer spotted on ebay did not sell, 0 bids. that might be an interesting project center console. its rough, but also a blank canvas.

Kajun,
Hated to read about your problems. If you find the need for an outboard mechanic let me know and I will contact some friends in PC and let you know. Best of luck.

actually time changes at the appalachicola river north of the coast, but ed ball (the Duponts) wanted the mill at st joe to be on the same time as the main office in jacksonville, so they had gulf county included in eastern time. time changes at the bay/ gulf line.
