I've watched my father straighten two of them and three propellors. There is an apparent art of useing a 4x4, 2x4, 12" piece of small rail track and a two pound hammer. I am never comfortable seeing him do it.

done small bends with a "dead blow" hammer and never was comfortable while doing it. just take it easy. block one side with a piece of wood and tap lightly against it.

no matter what you do , it can be fixed.....
with time & money.

The bottom of my sheg is broken and slightly bent, but has never bothered me one bit. Driving in circles, you can never get lost. ;D

That depends on the size of the circle!

if you put a skeg gaurd on it, just make sure you don't leave it in the water, all the manufactures have sent out bullitins about excessive elctrolisis from installing skeg gaurds on engiens that stay in the water, I haven't seen any damage from them, but every boat I've seen stays out of the water or the engine will clear when tilted up
