I am adding a til & trim switch to the motor 1987 Evinrude 175
Now I had installed th4e one reel gave me up front and that was easy, but for some reason when I get to the motor there is only the Blue & Green wire and no red??

So can I attach to any red wire, or to the battery wire at the starter??

Also Skools would you happen to have a cover for this box on the back of my motor??
Can I tap one of these wires for the new trim switch??

connect color for color in that relay box don't hook that red to batt or you'll need a new t-t

Hey MJ,
when you get it all hooked and working, take some pics of what you did.

I have a switch on my motor, but it doesn't work.
I never played around with it, cause I used the switch on the throttle.

Yes sir, I will!!
I have hooked up switches before but they always had the 3 wires, but this one just confused me.

How do you live with just the switch in the boat?? I have been out just few times this year (6) and it has been driving me nuts!!

It is rough,
the only time I really would need the on motor switch is at clean up time
after pulling out of teh water.
It is rough on the knees jumping up and down from teh trailer.
