Ok as many know I took the boat out today (See General section) and the center Oring is leaking on the ram *:'(

Now I am not looking forward to hammering out that big rusted pin, and then having to get the knuckle off, so That I can slde the cap off for a seal.

Now would something like Lucas stop leak work??

Tired of working want to be fishing!

MJ you've gone this far to make it right, don't half A$$ it now. Go ahead and fix her right and be done with it. Lucas is a band aide at best, it's also thicker than gear oil. Most all of your stop leaks use brake fluid to stop the leaks. They work by swelling the rubber, but it is a temporary fix as the swollen rubber will eventually tear and make the leak worse.

I guess you are right, I hate to admitt it!

So let me ask you, see if I get this right.

1 block the motor up

2 Knock the pin out

3 twist the knuckle off (whats the beast way to hgold the shaft??)

4 unscrew the cap and take off, replaxce center seal (leaking) and add new O ring on ther cap, reassamble.

5 top off fluid and ck for leaks.

Does that about cover it??

Thanks!

yeah heat and lots of Kroil but use a large hammer knock it both directions till it's loose. the pin should have been stainless. just don't mushroom it to where it won't come out.
