Need to replace seal in center tilt cylinder on 200 HP 1990 Johnson. How in the heck do you drive the tilt cylinder pin out? I believe I have reached a neutral position so shaft is not loaded but the pin will not budge. I would hate to pull motor from the boat.

remove the motor off the boat then soak the pin with Kroil oil and then beat out with large hammer and a hair smaller pin. good luck.

I had the same problem with mine I just kept on soaking it down with something like nut buster for a day or two. Then just knocked it out using a socket that was a little smaller than the pin without removing the engine. Oh, and Sears even waranted the socket.

I used wrench below. I heated the mid section on both
sides and sprayed PB Blaster while it was hot. Had to hit it from both sides, would move a little then I would hit it from the opposite side. After repeating about 4 times it popped out.

Pulled entire cylinder from boat and left housing attached. Tilt motor up until it hits splash well after *removing pins and shaft will slide right out.
