Can anyone tell me what max rated engine size is on a 1988 v20 center console?? I recently purchased this boat with a 1992 Yamaha 200 hp.
Also, how will this boat handle in rough seas??
Last boat was 17 ft bay, so this thing seems huge, I don't want to overestimate how seaworthy it really is.
Great forum---thanks in advance.

Looks like 235 for an OB is the max. Check this link.

My bro-in-law's gotta Rude 235 on his 22' Grady Tournament...and it'll FLY!...like to see one onna good V20... :o 8)...if I's gonna max one out w/today's motors, 225 E-Tech would be a REEL-SCREAMER!!
W/that 200, you're gonna have a well powered boat that'll handle some pretty sloppy conditions...you're definately UP-grading in terms of Rough-Water handling cababilities...I think you can expect a lot w/out disappointment...
Show us some pics...sounds like a nice boat>>>

Really appreciate all the info guys. I had no idea this was such a classic and quality hull. Everybody I talk to who knows boats always tells me good things about the V20.
I will be taking her out to the big water this weekend. The mullet are runnin' down here in Southeast Florida!!!
Big Snook, Mackeral, Tarpon, Blues. Can't wait.
Thanks again.
